Job Summary

Manage our design, vision and direction and influence across the entire organization, including our executive leadership. Have a goal to not only understand but also evangelize and deliver business value through a highly usable, delightful, and thoughtfully-designed product suite.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to OpenGov’s design teamSupport the process of implementing and scaling our design methodologies and systemsServe as a champion for user experience across the organizationCollaborate at the leadership level to create clarity out of ambiguity, and deliver clear messages and strategies to our teamsDevelop a deep understanding of our users' unique needs, through various research techniquesChampion and implement design strategies that evoke loyalty and delight from our user baseSource, attract, hire and retain the best talent

Requirements And Preferred Experience

7+ years of UX/UI design experience and 2+ years of design leadership experience managing a team of designersComprehensive understanding of how to apply modern design principles and design systems into practice in the context of a rapidly growing product suiteDemonstrated experience designing complex workflows and interfaces for desktop or mobile products proven by a portfolio that highlights past work and your teams’ design decisionsHistory of inspiring and building a cohesive visionDemonstrated ability to lead long-term research-driven strategic projects while ensuring day-to-day design deliverables are timely and well testedA keen understanding of how to implement and use design systems and UI patterns to scale and simplify design executionA passion for making government processes more effectiveUndergraduate or graduate degree in a related field, or equivalent work experienceA Portfolio is required
