Associate Designer (Fashion Accessories)
who possesses a talent for translating current trends into saleable product designs for our retail customers.
If you have a passion for fashion and a deep affinity for belts/SLG/handbag aesthetics & design, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for!***Local candidates only please as this position does not offer 100% remote work opportunity or relocation assistance.***Essential Functions/Duties:Actively participate in creation of original private label product to meet customer expectations & deadlines and company objectives including but not limited to exceeding margin goals and increasing sales.Collaborate with Designers on identifying and interpreting inspirational research and trend & color direction from creative management to capitalize on market opportunities, drive sales and fulfill specific customer needs. Actively bring ideas to creative brainstorm process.Working closely with the design team, manage multiple seasons and customer lines consecutively.Clearly and professionally present concepts to design team for line reviews.Source appropriate raw materials and have a keen understanding of pricing and functionality.Communicate accurately with overseas factories from initial product development until completion and approval of development samples.Complete and submit detailed and accurate technical specifications and Sample Requests to factories with corresponding art files as necessary.Manage and track complete development and production lifecycle, review samples, implement revision requests, and manage customer approval. This includes communicating with and providing documentation to the factories, tagging and sending samples to the customer.Create trend-right, customer focused original prints and motifs.Assist Designers in all aspects of the design process including creating layouts and generating collateral marketing materials such as line sheets, POGs, CADs, presentation boards, photography and retouching etc.Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:4-year design degree or related experience.1-2 years' experience designing fashion accessories or closely related product classification.Online work portfolio required; for full consideration, include fashion product designs and tech pack samples.***Note: Resumes that do not include link to most current portfolio will not be considered. ***Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointAble to work effectively within a design teamSense of urgency and experience with Time and calendar managementStrong Presentation skillsExcellent written and oral communicationPotentially 5-10% domestic and potentially international travelReports to Manager-DesignDNA is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or other protected status in any of the terms or conditions of employment.
