Evolution Power Tools’ Chicago Office is in search of a Product Marketing Manager at Evolution Power Tools to spearhead all of our Product marketing efforts here in North America. This role requires a deep understanding and experience within the Power and/or Hand Tool Market, the everyday challenges that tool users face, and Marketing best practices including but not limited to Market Sizing, New Product Development (NPD), Competitive Analysis and Consumer Research. This is a new role to the company that provides a high-visibility opportunity to influence the development, commercialization, and success of our existing range of Power Tools as well as help us determine what the future of Power Tools will be! This role requires close collaboration with savvy Sales Channel Leaders, wildly intelligent Marketers, and an unrivaled group of NPD designers and engineers and provides you with a massive opportunity to make an imprint on Evolution, North America, and the Power Tool Industry, at large. This role will be best filled by a person who thrives when working in the unknown and the abstract, loves solving puzzles, and building brand and product narratives through both quantitative data and qualitative research. Objectives of this role • Become the Product Evangelist for Evolution North America by: o Using empirically-sound Market Research best practices to identify the highest potential Power Tool opportunities within North America. o Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to activate and achieve maximum success for products within each sales channel. o Collaborate with the Sales Channel Leaders to develop marketing plans aimed at maximizing sales potential for our existing products within existing markets/channels and identify new market and product opportunities to expand into. o Collaborate with our NPD team to identify, design, develop, and commercialize the very best in Power Tools. • Develop Intelligent and thorough Market Sizing and Product Forecasting: o Examining and estimating market potential for existing product ranges within and between each of our sales channels. o Explore, identify, and estimate the opportunity size of new markets and products within and between each of our sales channels. Responsibilities • Shepherd the NPD process for the Sales and Marketing teams including: o Own the NPD timeline and deliverables on behalf of the Sales and Marketing team o Identify New Product Opportunities and share preliminary Market Size information with the Sales and Marketing Teams to achieve buy-in before sharing with the NPD team to begin drafting concepts. o Lead and coordinate all Product Launch efforts in collaboration with Sales and Marketing. o Conduct Post-mortem for each product launch to compare/contrast/evaluate actual results against expectations. Skills and qualifications • 5-7 years demonstrated Product Marketing and/or New Product Development experience within the Hand or Power Tools industry. • Strong written, verbal, and leadership skills. • Deep understanding of Hand or Power Tool market trends and product lifecycles. • Experience implementing and enforcing Marketing best practices, principles, structure. • Strong desire and ambition for continual personal and professional growth. • Demonstrated success leading and collaborating with cross-functional team members inside and outside of management responsibilities. • Leading and holding colleagues and cross-functional teams accountable to their required inputs and responsibilities. • Experience working with and supporting Sales, Marketing, and NPD Teams Reporting • Jobholder reports directly to the CEO of North America. Other Key Relationships • Regular collaboration with the US Sales, Marketing, and NPD teams. Location • This role is based in our office in the River West neighborhood of Chicago, IL. • Occasional travel to International offices may be requested. Working Hours • This is a full-time Hybrid role (3 Days in-office, 2 Days Work-from-home) with standard working hours Monday through Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M CST.
