Remote - PCB Designer

The Designer will be responsible for generating PCB layouts from BorgWarner developed schematics, maintenance and generation of library footprints, and definition of PCB form. Interface between the eProducts group manager and lead hardware engineer, assembling information from various sources into final work products.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

o Design PCBs per schematics and other documented requirements

o Add, edit and maintain electrical components in design library

o Work within design requirements defined by BorgWarner

o Generate gerbers and associated data in accordance with industry design standards

o Review outputs and confirm designs with engineer

o Must complete assigned tasks within the established project timelines.

o Active and onsite collaboration with electrical engineer required

o 10+ years design experience in PCB ECAD design and library footprint management

o High level proficiency in Altium Designer

o Demonstrated knowledge and application of electronics industry standards related to PCB design.

o Demonstrated knowledge and application of industry standards and best practices for high voltage 200 -- 1500VDC/VAC

o Demonstrated knowledge and application of industry standards and best practices for high power PCB design

o Demonstrated knowledge and application of PCB EMC layout practices for analog signals/circuits, analog power supplies, digital signals/circuits, digital embedded processors, etc.

o Analytical problem solving, critical thinking, and hands-on approach

o Interpersonal relations require professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage technical details in research and development environment

o Ability to work and keep in communication with hardware engineer via weekly reviews

o Must be able to ack independently and not have to rely on hardware engineer for constant guidance
