Director of Marketing

World Help, a Christian humanitarian organization serving the physical and spiritual needs of impoverished communities around the world, is looking to hire the Director of Marketing to serve as an overseer to the entire Marketing department and leads the team in communications, donor acquisition and retention, as well as analytics. This role also provides administrative, direct management, and strategic planning oversight to the Marketing department to create cohesiveness and collaboration between team members, improve areas that are lacking growth, and enable efficiency across the department. Together, these responsibilities allow the Director of Marketing to ensure that World Help is growing donor giving through mass communications fundraising, maintaining and increasing charitable giving of active donors, sourcing new donors to the organization, fulfilling all media requests, exploring trends in marketing data, ensuring that the World Help website is functioning properly, and enhancing customer experience for donors.

Whoever is taking on this role must provide strong leadership and have excellent time management and communication abilities. In order to be selected for the Director of Marketing position, World Help is searching for a devout follower of Christ whose worldview correlates with the company’s mission and values.

Scope of Job

20% - Communications –

Time will be dedicated to providing oversight to Communications in maintaining mass marketing strategy, managing media requests, ensuring best marketing and fundraising practices, processing invoicing/estimates/requisitions, and managing crisis response protocol.20% - Reporting and Analytics –

Time will be dedicated to providing oversight in establishing and reviewing necessary reporting and analytics to keep a strong pulse on mass marketing emails and social media campaigns related to open and click rates, response rates, engagement, and ultimately income to best drive marketing decisions. Time will also be allocated towards sharing results with the entire Marketing Team to ensure cohesive communication between donor acquisition experience and donor retention as the donor moves down the funnel in their giving.20% - Donor Acquisition –

Time will be dedicated to providing oversight to Acquisition in managing the website user experience, working with front-end and back-end web tasks, establishing an acquisition strategy, leading acquisition efforts, and showcasing knowledge in digital marketing.20% - Donor Retention –

Time will be dedicated to providing oversight to Retention in providing excellent customer service to donors, managing reporting, creating systems that enhance the customer experience for donors.20% - Administrative Leadership –

Time will be dedicated to managing timecards and time-off, meeting with direct reports and department to relay information, providing guidance and coaching, conducting performance reviews, setting department budget, and creating and implementing new strategies for the entire Marketing Department.Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Lead each team within the Marketing department and ensure their functions are running smoothly, forecasting ahead for issues/risks and opportunities.Review performance and key indicators from each area, adjusting strategies as needed for greater success.Meet with the Marketing Department managers of each area on a weekly basis to ensure clarity, workload fulfillment, and problem solve obstacles that hinder goal completion.Collaborate with World Help Directors, whether to optimize productivity or to provide opportunities for growth in donor giving.Outline and oversee the budget of the Marketing Department and forecast any needs for management of Marketing, ensuring financial health.Report opportunities, issues, processes, and Marketing department needs to the Executive team.Meet with the Chief Operating Officer on a weekly basis to report on updates and progress of the Marketing department.Provide oversight to Communications in maintaining marketing strategy, managing media requests, ensuring best marketing and fundraising practices, processing invoicing/estimates/requisitions, and managing crisis-response protocol.Provide oversight to Donor Acquisition, building leads and ensuring new donors are constantly funneling into the organization through traditional and digital media, establishing an acquisition strategy, leading acquisition efforts, and showcasing best practices. Additionally, managing the website for user experience (working with front-end and back-end web tasks) and overseeing strategic use of digital media.Provide oversight to Analytics in building/developing reporting systems, automated systems, and identifying trends/discrepancies in data – dashboards should guide both acquisition and retention efforts.Provide oversight to Donor Retention in providing excellent customer service to donors, managing reporting, creating systems that enhance the customer experience and extend lifetime giving of donors.Any additional duties needed to help drive the mission, vision, and organizational values of World Help.Position Level Responsibilities

Director

Administrative

Manages timecards and time-off requests.Passes down and reiterates information from executives.

Direct Management

Manages direct report’s workflow.Meets weekly with direct reports to discuss tasks, productivity, and relay important information.Conducts 1-on-1 meetings with department on a monthly basis, at minimum.Provides coaching and direction.Conducts performance reviews for managers.

Strategic Planning

Develops strategies for entire department and executes them efficiently.Sets budget for department.Synergize with other Directors to facilitate needs and optimize workflow.

Leadership

Represent World Help in a professional manner and conduct behavior reflected of World Help values, both internally when working/speaking with employees at all levels in the corporate hierarchy and externally while working/speaking with partners, programs, third parties, and the general public.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

5+ years of management experience.5+ years of experience in donor fundraising and marketing within nonprofit contextBachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field.Efficient use of time management.Exemplary organizational skills.Can communicate with others clearly and effectively.Experience in nonprofit leadership and work.Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education
