Description Summary

The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for promoting Iowa Central Community College with consistent messaging in all mediums to drive student enrollment, the mission and purpose of Iowa Central, and alumni and community engagement.

Ability to succeed in a fast pace and deadline driven environment while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.

Constant (67-100%)Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communication plan with details and deadlines, including social media posts, promotional materials and videos, press releases and more.Generate ideas to creatively promote the college to increase enrollmentCollaborate with staff, faculty and alumni to create promotional content related to academics, campus/student life, alumni success stories.Collaborate with Web Master to keep website updated and relevant.Attend college events and activities and provide photography/media coverage with supporting written coverage that can be posted on social media, website, and area newspapers.Manage the compilation and publication of the catalog and other college publications including the Intranet.Edit public information to assure accuracy and compliance with board policies.Manage all social media accounts and website with creative content that aligns with the goals of the collegeSeek out stories to create videos, press releases and feature stories for social media, website and area mediaGeneral photographyGraphic Design, knowledge of Adobe Creative SuiteUtilize analytical tools and techniques to interpret data trends and patterns.Frequent (34-66%)Oversee and monitor the advertising and printing budget for all centers.Assist with the marketing aspects of Iowa Central Rec and other departments as neededWork with companies for outsourced projectsOversee and monitor the advertising and printing budget for all centers.Assist with the marketing aspects of Iowa other departments as neededWork with companies for outsourced projectsAssist in special projects, newsletters, bulletins, reports, view books, etc.Occasional (10-33%)Occasional evening and weekend hours for special events such as Hall of Fame, Jam the Gym, Move-In Day.Maintain and oversee the Events Web Calendar.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred or Associate degree and three years of experience in journalism, marketing, public relations or related fields preferred; or equivalent of any combination of experience, education and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) needed to perform the job is required. Must hold a valid driver's license at time of hire and maintain throughout the position. Computer proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, InDesign, and Photoshop desired.

GENERAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH OR WITHOUT A REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves constant (67-100%) close visual work, kneeling, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion, walking, standing, sitting for long periods of time, talking with people in person and over the telephone; frequent (34-66%) exertion up to 40 pounds; and occasional (10-33%) driving to other centers, community agencies or businesses.

We offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees including medical, dental, retirement (IPERS or TIAA), life insurance (2x base salary up to $300,000), and long-term disability.

Our paid time off package includes holidays (7), vacation (15 days), personal days (16 hours), volunteer leave (8 hours) and sick leave (120) hours. The leaves listed are annual and some of the leave benefits may be prorated based on date of hire.
