J ob Summary

Zachry is looking for a Director of Marketing and Proposal Operations to lead our Marketing and Proposal department at the corporate office in San Antonio, Texas. We are looking for a creative thinker, self-starter, collaborator, relationship builder, and someone who can connect the dots throughout the marketing lifecycle. In this role, you'll bring curiosity, optimism, a can-do attitude, and a desire to build strong connections both externally and across the company. Essential Functions

Lead a wide range of marketing activities, including but not limited to: detailed market research and intelligence gathering to identify client decision-makers and define client needs; developing statements of qualifications, proposals, and interview presentations; etc.

Facilitate marketing planning efforts within regional offices. Collaborate with Regional Managers and Senior Leadership in these efforts.

In concert with Regional Managers, Senior Leadership, and other Department Leads, participate in monthly pipeline strategic planning and sharing project pursuits.

Manage and mentor a team of proposal and marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Acquire working knowledge of the company’s entire portfolio, both historical and current.

Oversee the maintenance and updating of marketing collateral, including brochures, presentations, and proposal content.

Direct the project-specific selling efforts, including preparation of proposals that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each client and orchestration of interviews, including both written and graphic composition; take a lead role in some, a coordinating role in others, and an oversight quality control role in others.

Be a visible and active Zachry representative at industry events and conferences, and mentor staff to do the same.

In concert with Regional Managers, develop marketing plans for key staff to participate in community and industry activities, public speaking, and professional conferences.

Formulate the annual marketing plan and marketing budget with the office EVP for Operations and Chief Estimator; monitor both plan and budget, providing periodic and annual updates.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of professional services marketing experience, preferably in the A/E/C industry with experience in heavy civil markets, and AEC industry knowledge including an understanding of our market, competitive landscape, and industry trends.

Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing and communications strategies.

At least three years of management experience with a proven track-record of growing and mentoring staff. Must have the ability to motivate and manage teams, set clear goals and expectations, and provide guidance and direction to team members.

Creative thinker with strong leadership, strategic, problem-solving, and management skills; discrete and highly professional.

Positive personality that is supportive; able to establish rapport, build relationships—internally and externally; very comfortable in both inside and outside roles; familiarity with local community.

Relentless attention to detail and organization.

Technological savvy; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and database programs, such as SAP C4C.

Able to travel to other Zachry offices and/or project locations as needed.
