Minimum QualificationsEducation and/or Equivalent Experience:Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) college or university with major coursework in related discipline or certificate in graphic design, plus a minimum of three (3) years of experience related to the job.Experience may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.

Licenses and Certifications Required:None.Notes to ApplicantsPosition Overview:The Digital Graphic Designer creates illustrations, logos, artwork, and marketing materials including brochures, flyers, posters, and educational materials for various divisions within Austin-Travis County EMS . The person in this position will also lead the EMS Annual Report project, upload digital content to the ATCEMS website, and design the Department's monthly digital news magazine using Adobe Creative Cloud and its various applications. The Graphic Designer will also participate in the planning and development of advertising/promotional campaign strategies for the department.

About EMS :The Emergency Medical Services department is responsible for managing critical time-sensitive life-threatening emergencies. While most of the assistance EMS gives to the community is medical in nature, everything we do is about service: service to our patients, their families and loved ones; service to our community; and service to the people who make up Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services.

Proficient in the use of the Canva graphic design platform for social media and presentation graphics.Knowledge of artistic styles, techniques, principals, and effects involved in graphic design work.Ability to understand advanced visual arts, conceptualization, andExperience with project management.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook and Word.

Creates comprehensive design strategies and packages tailored to customer needsDesigns and produces websites, motion graphics, style guides, advertisements, promotional materials, print collateral, illustrations, logos, and photography for a wide variety of marketing materials and platformsAssists with web and social media presence, development, appearance and updatesMonitors and coordinates all stages of production to complete projectsAdvises and consults with vendors producing bid specifications, documentation, and contracts for vendorsAssists in the planning and development of digital advertising, promotional campaigns and strategiesActs as art director and liaison for individual projects and client programsAssists with the development of long range strategic marketing plansResearches best practices, emerging technology, user behavior, interface content, and industry and cultural trendsActs as a steward of the brand look and feel and ensures that all creative broadcast across all channels lives up to the highest quality of the City's visual standardsCollaborates with stakeholders to effectively drive communications and to ensure consistency of brand identityWorks within the content management system to implement and maintain a consistent and engaging visual web presence
