Senior Designer

Andgar Food Processing Equipment, LLC has a new opening for an experienced

Senior Designer based out of our headquarters in Ferndale, WA.

This division designs and manufactures food processing equipment for the agricultural sector using conveyor belt systems and automation, with some robotics. Work is primarily on food-grade stainless steel and some aluminum (minimal). Creative thinkers and those with the ability to come up with new designs would excel in this position.

Pay, Incentives, and Benefits:

Specific Duties Include:

Evaluate Customers' operations and propose automated solutionsDesign of new products and improvements to existing productsSet the design vision of the projectDemonstrate thought leadership by contributing subject matter expertise in the area of design, reliability and application of products.Liaise with design and technical supervisor and customers to gather product and structural requirements and designsResponsible for management of engineering and factory installation projectsCreate detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) softwarePrepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the manufacturing teamComply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, maintaining a clean work area.Seeks assistance as needed and asks questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff.Transform initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (CAD)Collaborate with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designsWork on projects/matters of complexityPrepare creative designs or related drawings or detailsUse designs to develop specifications or estimates of materials needed for a projectDesign diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflowEnsure final designs comply with regulations and quality standardsReviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.Meet project/production hours & requirementstransforms complex rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (CAD)Supervise and guide lower-level CAD draftersCalculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materialsDescribe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionalityResearches and evaluates products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliabilityAnalyze test results and recommend appropriate design changes.Coordinate with other engineering staff to complete projectsAdheres to assigned work schedule (attendance and punctuality).Responds to phone messages, emails in timely manner.Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

BS in Engineering, or a combination of technical degree and experience5+ Years of related experienceCurrent Driver’s License and acceptable driving recordCPR & First Aid, Aerial Work Platform, Forklift, Rigging & Signaling Training within 12 months of hireAbility to apply engineering or architectural principles to the design of buildings/structures and their components or assembliesHands on experience with computer design software (SolidWorks)Ability to apply engineering or architectural principles to the design of buildings/structures and their components or assembliesAbility to follow instructions with appropriate level of self-directionAbility to interact with coworkers, contractors, vendors and management on a positive level
