Role Summary:

Are you passionate about creating delightful user experiences and leading an innovative design team? We are looking for an experienced Sr. Director of Product Design to join us in shaping the future of gifting products, solutions, and services. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to gain deep domain expertise while significantly shaping our product roadmap and ensuring exceptional outcomes for our partners and users.

Our design team is on a mission to acquire, retain and grow users across our portfolio of gifting products & solutions. As the head of product design, you will design user experiences that are intuitive, user-friendly, and help us build aesthetically pleasing products that meet both user needs and business objectives.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, marketing, and sales, to bring products from concept to launch and beyond. Your product sense, design expertise and strategic thinking will be crucial in navigating trade-offs and making informed decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term goals. Responsibilities:

Design Leadership: Guide the overall design process and ensure the design team delivers high-quality work. Establish design principles and guidelines to maintain consistency across products.

User Research and Testing: Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Perform usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs based on user input.

Concept Development: Generate innovative design concepts and solutions. Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to visualize and communicate ideas.

Design Execution: Ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently. Work with product managers & engineers to solve design-related technical challenges and ensure feasibility.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, marketers, and other stakeholders. Facilitate communication between design and other departments to align project goals and deliverables.

Mentorship and Development: Mentor junior designers and provide guidance to help them grow professionally. Foster a collaborative and creative work environment.

Design Quality: Maintain ambitious standards of design quality and ensure that the final product meets / exceeds user expectations. Continuously improve quality, conduct design reviews, and provide constructive feedback.

Product Strategy & Roadmap: Contribute to product strategy by providing insights from a design perspective. Align design goals with business objectives to create user-centered products that meet market needs.

Qualifications:

Design Expertise: Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Strong understanding of human centric / user-centered design principles and methodologies across form factors.

Leadership: Experience leading and inspiring a design team. Ability to provide constructive feedback and foster professional growth among team members.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively. Ability to present and defend design concepts to stakeholders.

Decision-Making: Data-centric, customer-centric approach to solving problems and making decisions. Creative problem-solving skills to address design challenges and find effective solutions. Analytical thinking to evaluate design effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Collaboration: A team player, and strong collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Driving Growth: Expertise in drilling into user funnels, understanding key events and building experiences that drive adoption, conversion, retention & growth.

10+ years of experience in product design, product management, with a preference for E-commerce, B2C, B2B, SaaS experience.

Proven record of accomplishment of hands-on design leadership in delivering value and impact for in-market products.

Experience with agile product development, solid understanding of web technologies preferred.

4-year bachelor's degree in engineering, business, science, or related field required. Masters preferred. Exceptionally relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
