To support this growth strategy, the Americas SE&O is hiring a Director of Communications reporting to the Chief of Staff to support the Americas Chief Operating Officer (COO).

As the Communications Director you will be responsible for developing and landing the strategic COO Communications Plan including Americas sales enablement strategy to the field, Americas SE&O communications and also external leadership via LinkedIn and Conference executive attendance. This includes writing and storytelling, executive stakeholder management, developing executive voice, brand and reputation – all while acting as a trusted communications advisor and counsel to the Americas COO.

Responsibilities

You will drive collaboration with others to produce communications materials and tactics, leading agency teams as needed. You’ll also choose and manage agency partnerships.

You will lead and create the communications strategy. This will involve providing thought leadership and developing innovative campaigns while generating momentum for Microsoft’s offerings.

You will lead storytelling across teams while using data and insights to drive storytelling opportunities. You’ll also develop and create ideas for collateral materials for use in a range of initiatives and events.

You will leverage your deep expertise of stakeholders to execute tasks, as well as manage and refine expectations and priorities. You’ll also identify opportunities to enhance public perception, and drive research to determine impact and risk of various actions.

You will monitor and analyze the impact of messaging for a given issue, then create responses as needed. You’ll also drive strategy by gathering and synthesizing data from various sources, as well as by determining which metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience

OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience

OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience

OR equivalent experience.

5+ years specialized functional (e.g., retail, technology) experience

8+ years experience supporting executives in an executive communications role

3+ years experience working with social media platforms

Communications IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
