Job Summary

KUER 90.1, the NPR member station broadcasting from the University of Utah, is looking for a Marketing & Design Assistant. The successful candidate will provide support for KUER’s development department and audience engagement initiatives by completing graphic design projects, social media campaigns and more. The position will run from August 2024 through April 2025.

Responsibilities

Work closely with KUER’s development team and the manager of donor acquisition to brainstorm and offer creative insight around graphic design elements for KUER’s fundraising efforts, including web, direct mail, email, mobile, and social media platforms.

Creates digital and print graphics for use in development, marketing and fundraising efforts.

Provide design assistance for special events, including signage, programs, web graphics, etc.

Work closely with the development team to strategize social media campaigns around fundraising and audience engagement.

Execute social media campaigns, alongside KUER’s donor communications specialist.

Assists with KUER’s in-person fundraising and outreach efforts as needed.

Preferences

Graphic design experience – including experience working the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and/or Canva.

Experience working in and managing multiple social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram).

Understanding of public radio and its mission and programs.

Understanding of a nonprofit media environment and fundraising strategies.

Ability to work effectively with multiple departments throughout a large organization.

This position may require the successful completion of a criminal background check and/or drug screen.
