Innovative Senior Scientist (Assay Design & Development) . We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with expertise in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) to help drive our research and development efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in molecular biology and PCR techniques, with a proven track record of commercializing multiplexed tests, using innovation and rigor to drive best in class performance. This role involves being part of a team of scientists, designing and optimizing ultra-rapid PCR assays for use in decentralized settings, while also developing new PCR-based technologies and applications.

San Diego, CA .What You’ll Work On

Design, optimize, characterize, troubleshoot and validate ultra-rapid multiplexed PCR assays for use in decentralized settings, including integration with upstream sample preparation technologies.Provide in silico primer and probe designs and perform wet lab studies to screen and optimize PCR assays.Establish plans, timelines, and protocols for concept and feasibility testing, characterization and optimization, and design transfer.Develop protocols and processes, standard operating procedures, and train personnel on techniques.Analyze and interpret complex PCR data, utilizing bioinformatics tools and software to ensure accurate results.Drive innovation in PCR technology, exploring new methodologies and approaches to enhance product performance.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PCR development and data interpretation.Support high-quality research and development outcomes that meet project/program timelines.Present research and development progress to cross-functional teams, including executives.Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences to share advancements in assay technology.Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in chemistry, biological chemistry, biochemistry or a closely related field and two years of experience. OR master's degree and 4 years' experience OR Bachelor's degree and 6 years' experience.Industry experience developing new PCR-based technologies and applications.Preferred Qualifications

Highly proficient in various PCR techniques, including qPCR, RT-PCR, dPCR, rapid PCR, multiplexing PCR, nested PCR.Experience with isothermal nucleic acid amplification technologies is a plus.Proven track record of working as part of a team that has successfully launched commercial PCR tests.Strong data analysis skills, experience using bioinformatics tools and software.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PCR.Expertise in rapid multiplexed PCR research and development for implementation in decentralized settings.Experience in the biotechnology industry with proven track record of developing products that have obtained regulatory approval and commercial success.Experience working under a quality management system and knowledge of regulatory requirements for diagnostic product development.* Participants who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan.
