Process Technical Writer

The candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, organizing, and maintaining process documentation and SOPs within the current contract team. This role requires both onsite presence for interaction with current contract and federal staff, as well as remote work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Once the current Public Trust credential is "waived in" to the federal agency, you will be issued a GFE. Investigate MS Teams folders and network drive folders to identify existing procedure documents and formal SOPs.Categorize documents by functional role/responsibility, branch, author, date written, and current relevance.Organize a document library system with an SOP for document development, updates, approvals, storage, and archiving.Identify gaps in existing SOPs/process documents, prioritize their development, and suggest assignments to the current contract program manager.Define and document processes for creating, reviewing, approving, and distributing process documents, including defining a process for storing approved "final" documents as well as working libraries for working drafts.Conduct investigative interviews and interact with current contract and federal staff to gather necessary information.Ensure all documentation adheres to the agency’s standards and best practices.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science degree in English or related field preferred.REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (THREE YEARS WITHIN PAST SEVEN YEARS)

Extensive experience in creating and managing process documents and SOPs.Familiarity with business process engineering documentation.Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.Strong organizational skills with the ability to categorize and manage large volumes of documents.Ability to develop clear and concise SOPs and process documentation.Excellent communication skills for investigative interviews and interactions with staff.Ability to work both remotely and onsite as needed.

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Experience working within federal agencies, particularly cabinet level agencies.Familiarity with document management systems and best practices for document storage and archival.Knowledge of processes and standards related to business process engineering and documentation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of the time.
