IntroductionWe are hiring an experienced attorney to join our Legal team. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, as Counsel, Product Compliance and Marketing, you will work with multiple teams across the business including the product, marketing, engineering, compliance and sales teams. You will develop a deep understanding of iRobot’s products, strategies, and processes to offer pragmatic legal advice and help the business identify and mitigate potential legal risks.

This role is based in the Bedford, MA corporate office and will be a hybrid position. The successful candidate will work closely with the entire legal team.

What You Will Do:Working alongside and advising a variety of stakeholders across the product and marketing teams throughout the product development lifecycle (i.e. from the initial stages of product development through launch, including the review of marketing strategies and assets).Updating and maintaining company policies, international warranties and terms of service pursuant to product and legal requirements.Helping build scalable and effective processes for providing legal input to business partners including the marketing and compliance teams.Provide guidance and legal support to the engineering compliance team with respect to regulatory compliance for consumer products.Support escalations of product compliance and product safety risks to leadershipWork with Customer Care to support customer escalations.Work with outside counsel to manage various types of litigation such as claims arising from customer care, ADA litigation, contracts litigation, etc.Support other legal team projects as assigned.

To Be Successful You Will Have:A J.D. from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school, and membership in good standing to at least one state bar.5-10 years of legal experience, in marketing/advertising, consumer protection, consumer product regulatory compliance.Exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a succinct and impactful manner to a non-legal audience.The ability to integrate into cross-functional teams with a cooperative and participatory approach.Very high level of business acumen and ability to ‘operationalize’ compliance policies and anticipate/solve related challenges.Understanding commercial objectives and realities, with ability to solve complex problems within such constraints.
