Vice President of Product Design

to lead our product design, content design, and UX writing teams. As the VP of Product Design, you will lead teams to develop features that solve important problems for over 15M monthly active customers in over 120 countries.

You will be responsible for defining MyFitnessPal’s end-to-end design direction, ensuring products are of the highest quality, and driving business value through design. In this role, you'll be a key member of a cross-functional leadership team, working together with your counterparts in Product Management, Engineering, Analytics, Research, Marketing, and other functions to define the strategy, operations, and communications that guide the team to build great products addressing real customer needs.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead a talented, diverse, inclusive team of product and content designers that consistently deliver excellent end-to-end customer experiences, and is well-balanced across a range of design skill sets

Develop design talent and build a thriving culture where designers grow in their careers and feel a strong sense of inclusion and belonging

Contribute to MyFitnessPal’s Product vision, strategy, and roadmap to drive both short- and long-term impact

Define and own the design direction for the full product experience, and influence MyFitnessPal’s brand direction

Create operational excellence in the Product Design team (and beyond), with a focus on learning, feedback, and high-velocity iteration

Partner closely with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Engineers, Analysts, Researchers, and Marketers to deliver high quality experiences for customers across markets, platforms and product surfaces

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

15+ years of experience in Product Design with at least 10+ years of leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership, including hiring and developing senior managers and individual contributors

Demonstrated experience leading high-velocity Design teams to have meaningful impact on the customer and the business

Extensive experience leading consumer-facing Product Design design teams focused on native iOS and Android apps

Ability to create design direction and processes that balance small design iterations with larger experience changes to improve the end-to-end experience and achieve goals

A strong bias-to-action to address challenges, build and test products, and learn from failures and successes

Analytical approach to Design work, incorporating qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decision making and measure outcomes

Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills

Bonus Points:

Experience working in subscription model businesses

Experience developing products in the health, wellness, or exercise space

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $200,000 - $275,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
