Job Summary:
Our client in Troy, MI is looking for a Senior Digital Design Specialist (Digital Modeler). This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
US Electric Vehicle company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space. Our Client is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Senior Digital Design Specialist to join our growing team. Our Client is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space. Our vehicle is designed to deliver the most desirable, reliable and most efficient low cost of ownership electric vehicle on the market.
The Senior Digital Design Specialist will help to generate and develop 3d digital Data for the exterior of our vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of anchoring digital modeling teams to deliver excellence in Exterior Automotive Architecture, Body, and Component Design. They will assist the design team in creating and defining the Digital Surfaces and virtual imagery of Our Client's products. The ideal candidate will be proficient at creating high quality data sets and virtual scenes that meet the design team's objectives.
The responsibilities of the Senior Digital Design Specialist include but are not limited to the following:Assist the Exterior Digital Surface Manager in all managerial tasks related to Electronic Math Modeling and Virtual Visualization.Organize and ensure on time completion of Digital Surface team deliverables.Establish and maintain the creative president for digital visualization.Serve as lead design team member responsible for A.I Technologies.Promote, and advise stakeholders on, the Digital approach and apply automotive design methodologies to validate and inform design decisions.Build relationships with internal design team members and key stakeholders, such as Brand, Commercial, Engineering and Manufacturing teams. Relating to the virtual tools.Utilize software skills in latest versions of Automotive Design and 3D development tools, such as A.I. Tools, Virtual reality / Alias, Grass-hopper, and Parametric modeling etc.Develop and create a wide variety of Digital solutions and Virtual scenes based on project definitions and requests from design Team Members.Support Component and customization systems, products, services, and API - responsive or adaptive for Aftermarket Strategies with Virtual toolsPerforms closed-loop validation of Exterior Design with Product development teams and key partners.Supply Virtual renditions of ideas, design decisions, and appearance recommendations to senior level stakeholders.What You Will Need:
Basics:
10 years professional work experience, as a Surface designer, Industrial designer, or similar transportation and vehicle related role.An excellent command of visual communication and evaluation along with a thorough knowledge of 2d illustration and 3d development tools is a must.Ability to write verbal descriptions of automotive design.Familiarity of rapid prototyping tools (i.e., Milling, 3d printing etc.).Exhibit passion for emerging technologies, related to digital design.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.Proficient in both writing and speaking the English language.Preferred:
Ability to generate 3D digital sketch models via Alias or Blender.Successfully contributing to the completion of a production program is a plus.Experience in automotive, or consumer products industries in the capacity of design or ergonomic related fields.Experience working within an agile development process.Proficient in various design disciplines.
