Position Summary:

The Development and Marketing Associate is responsible for assisting in and supporting fundraising and marketing operations within the organization. The role will report to the Chief Development Officer and works with the Development team.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Data Management

Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of data entry in database; maintain the data in the donor database; as well as ensure all information is kept current and up to date;Responsible for ensuring that all activities and pertinent information are consistently recorded in the database and in the appropriate files. Troubleshoots database issues;Ensures timely and accurate data-entry in the donor database system; provide ongoing mailing lists and reports on fundraising activities.Donor Stewardship

Responsible for donor stewardship, including the timely management of all donor acknowledgement and recognition, reporting and communications to further on-going major donor relationships on behalf of the organization;Upholds the process for timely thank you and acknowledgement, including communicating with Finance and CEO office when gifts are received;Administers thank you letter process, including ensure letters are sent 24-48 hours after receipt;Mails correspondence to potential donors, volunteers and guests in order to inform them of activities.

Marketing

Follows Marketing Communications plan, update calendars, and help to keep department on track, assure timely communications and advise team on any concerns;Assists in updating website content and coordinate update schedules with various departments;Assists in supporting social media marketing, including both YWCA and Persimmon Petals.

Collaboration

Assists Development staff in compiling and preparing fundraising reports, policies and procedures, and running a wide range of gift reports;Provides support to various committees and volunteers during fundraising campaigns and events;Maintains the budget books for development department activities, i.e., events and marketing;Assists CDO in reconciling income and expenses with Finance Dept;Provides support for fundraising events. Assist in the following: updating ticket sales, donations; provide invoices and follow up to ensure payments on sponsorships, vendor and ad sales;Manages invoicing for all department vendors, event sponsors, expo vendors and program book advertisers;Performs necessary follow up activities to ensure payments received in a timely manner. Assist with the creation and finalization of guest lists;Appraises team of new donors and communicates with donors during fundraising events;Prepares various materials (including correspondence, meeting notices, minutes, and donor meeting packets);Provides support to other marketing and/or advertising efforts and work in public relations;Participates in all creative strategy discussions and add thoughts and ideas to the discussion;Performs basic administrative duties such as filing, data entry, maintaining a filing system and more to assist CDO and department;Assists CDO in scheduling meetings with prospective funders and coordinates organizational or department meetings, as needed;Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: •

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree preferred.Experience

One (1) to three (3) years' experience in Bloomerang, fundraising, donor or other relevant databases required;•Experience in creative design programs such as Indesign or Canva is desirable but not required;•Knowledge and experience in social media marketing and website content management desirable.Schedule:

The Development Associate is a non-exempt position. Work schedule Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Due to the nature of the work,

some weekend and evening hours will be required

Salary Description

$22 to $26 / hour
