Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a Design with major corporation in New York City. This assignment is Onsite Mon-Thurs and Remote on Fri. (need to reside in the NYC area).

Must Haves:
MAC Proficiency, enthusiastic, optimistic, able to interact well with others, team player and well rounded. Proficient in Adobe, Photoshop., InDesign, Ability to take direction and communicate well both verbal & written, keep track of projects, detailed and very organized. Bach Fine Arts - from Art School, Graphic Des classes completed - or equiv. No Overtime required.
Description :Searching for a Temporary Designer with strong technical and creative skills to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of book design experience, preferably in trade book publishing. They should be able to create and execute designs for a wide range of projects. The ideal candidate should be very organized, and detail oriented. This designer will work with art directors, designers, editors and production managers through all phases of book making in a fast-paced and friendly environment. This position requires a creative and responsible designer to ensure smooth departmental workflow.• Will handle making corrections to reprints, preparing jacket mechanicals, and formatting files for production• Creating layouts and designs for original hardcover books and converting hardcover novels to paperback• Presenting designs to art directors and editors for review and feedback• Works collaboratively with all members of the team• Maintains and strictly adheres to production schedules.• Assists the design staff as needed• Works with other in-house departments to ensure requests are met in a timely and effective manner.
Basic Qualifications:• 3+ years book design experience• Proven talent in creating innovative book design, application of typography, layout, color.• Solid computer design skills: proficient in Adobe Creative Suite• Ability to juggle many projects simultaneously• Strong written and oral communication styles; ability to present design ideas• Familiarity with print production
Preferred Education:BFA or equivalent design work experience
