$33-$37/hr.Job Responsibilities:Supporting families in developing goals and objectives related to a visual impairment.Supporting transitions from early intervention services to preschool, preschool to elementary school, elementary school to middle school, and middle school to high school.Assisting in the provision of a coordinated set of activities for transitioning from school to adult life,Providing direct instruction, co-teaching, and participating in other collaborative efforts.Providing direct instruction in visual efficiency, tactile symbols, braille, assistive technology, auditory skills, social skills, use of near- and low-vision devices, and other areas of the ECC, based on student need.Consulting and collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals.Assisting in modifying the environment to accommodate specific visual needs.Modeling appropriate instructional techniques.Providing, creating, and assisting in acquiring adapted materials as needed.Maintaining current eye reports on each student, when available.Recommending adapted strategies for access to the general education curriculum and participation in the school community.Building student independence and success in home, community, and school environments.Requirements:

Valid teacher's license/certificate with the teaching field of Visually Impaired (PK-12) in state of practice.

Valid driver's license.Strong relationship building, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills with school/campus staff, parents, and internal/external stakeholders. Strong interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity & competence.Ability to efficiently multitask on a daily basis.May require successful completion of communicable disease, child abuse, CPR, first aid, CPI and/or behavioral management training or other training as needed.The employee shall remain free of alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment with the ESC.Proficiency with use of technology hardware and basic software (i.e., Microsoft office), email, and office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, scanner, telephone, etc.).Ability to preserve confidentiality of student information and records.Clearance results as acceptable by applicable regulatory bodies. Criminal justice fingerprint/background (FBI/BCI), and public health clearances
