Mechanical Designer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Maintain a thorough understanding of the documentation system and configuration control. Serve as a resource for others in this area.• Create new product configurations as required by Sales. Must have a working knowledge of the model numbering schemes for all products.• Responsible for creating and/or modifying product documentation including outline, assembly, and detail drawings; bills of material; sourcing documents; and process instructions. Have a working knowledge mechanical drawing conventions, tolerances, and GD&T.• Work with other engineers to produce 3D models and other concept documentation to aid in the development process. Possess a firm background in 3D modeling using SolidWorks.• Perform design analyses such as tolerance stack-ups, mechanical fit, and design for manufacturability.• Maintain the laser automation configuration for all applicable products.• Process ECOs and general documentation updates for all departments as needed.• Interface with other

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (AS) in Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or similar from an accredited college or university, plus three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
