You will analyze large datasets, develop AI/ML algorithms, and derive insights to address complex business problems in fraud detection/prevention and advertising data analytics, while ensuring compliance with global privacy and data protection laws. As the ad tech industry undergoes a major shift towards greater transparency and protection against fraud, Pixalate is uniquely positioned as the first MRC-accredited, omni-channel fraud protection provider focused on reducing fraud, not just measuring it.QUALIFICATIONBS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or other quantitative fields4+ years of professional experience in data science, solving complex problems with a focus on AI/ML techniques and privacy expertiseExperience in implementing AI/ML algorithms, including deep learning and reinforcement learning models, while ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection lawsAbility to work independently and solve complex problems with minimal supervisionStrong critical thinking and ability to generate intuitive conclusions from complex datasetsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high attention to detailProficiency in SQL and Python (experience with R is a plus)Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, basic probability, and statisticsFamiliarity with AI/ML tools and frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, ChatGPT, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras)Familiarity with online advertising, advertising fraud, and global privacy and data protection laws, with a focus on European privacy and data protection laws and regulationsPreferred MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Statistics, or other quantitative fields with a focus on AI/ML and privacy expertisePreferred Familiarity with Amazon AWS, UNIX CLI, and programming in Scala, Java, and/or C/C++ (a plus)Preferred Experience providing thought leadership in privacy and data protection, particularly in the context of the European regulatory landscape and beyondPreferred Proven track record of integrating privacy-by-design principles into data science projects and productsPreferred Knowledge of de-identification, anonymization, and pseudonymization techniques for data processing and analysisPreferred Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) and their applications in AI/ML projectsPreferred Experience working with data protection authorities and managing data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) in a data-driven organizationPreferred Strong understanding of GDPR, ePrivacy, and other relevant privacy and data protection legislation, as well as global privacy frameworks and best practicesRESPONSIBILITIESServe as a subject matter expert on privacy and data protection, working closely with legal, engineering, data science, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to enhance privacy-related services and identify customer needsLeverage advanced machine learning techniques, including deep learning and reinforcement learning, to improve fraud detection and prevention models while adhering to privacy regulationsResearch and implement state-of-the-art AI/ML algorithms to stay ahead of emerging fraud patterns and trends, maintaining compliance with privacy laws and regulationsProvide technical support for existing products by resolving complex client issues through coordinated tickets and data analysisIdentify new types of fraud and develop early detection/prevention algorithms using AI/ML techniquesCreate visualizations, document methodologies, and effectively communicate research insights to product management and marketing teams, while maintaining privacy complianceAutomate report generation for recurring requests using scriptsDevelop and test statistical hypotheses to support data-driven decision-makingCollaborate with data scientists, analysts, product managers, and engineers to apply quantitative data analysis expertise and create AI/ML-driven innovative solutions, ensuring privacy and data protection complianceStay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML, privacy regulations, and industry trends to inform data science strategy and approachMentor and guide junior data scientists and engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of learning and growthBENEFITSWe focus on doing things differently and challenge each other to be the best we can be.Defined contribution Pension schemeMonthly internet reimbursementCasual, remote work environmentHybrid, flexible hoursOpportunity for advancementBeing part of a high performing team that wants to win and have fun doing itWhere are you located?
