Position SummaryWe are looking for an experienced communications professional to serve as our Head of Communications. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Head of Communications will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, public relations messages, social media, and collateral to consistently articulate Earnin’s mission and raise awareness of the company brand and products. The ideal candidate is a passionate, organized, and strategically inclined/curious forward-thinking individual with a proven track record creating and driving clear, relevant, and interesting messaging and stories. We are seeking people who are driven by collaborative and creative thinking and who are passionate about sharing simple and innovative products that customers love.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000 - $213,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This role will be primarily in the office of Palo Alto and will require hybrid work from the office each week with 2 days in the office.

What You’ll Do:

Build and execute strategic and proactive PR program.

Develop community engagement communications strategy across media, PR, and influencer spaces to position Earnin in multiple markets.

Align PR strategies with business milestones and work in close partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure timelines and deliverables meet the needs of the business.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities.

Work with and manage external agencies and resources.

Develop media narrative aligned to business strategies.

Ensure effective messaging and materials: pitches, press releases, media training, and briefings.

Build and elevate external profiles for senior leaders and lead external speaking opportunities to drive visibility and thought leadership.

Stay informed on industry news and flag issues and trends for leaders.

Collaborate with other teams to identify the public voice of the brand.

Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises.

Draft press releases and speeches following organizational news.

Manage internal communications with staff on key issues.

Communicate with media outlets and journalists and create press kits.

Develop materials to educate staff on communication practices.

Coach and assist team members on improving communication skills.

Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies.

Partner with GR teams.

What We’re Looking For:

10+ years of experience working in media relations, communications, public relations, or public affairs with a proven record of success.

Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree or equivalent industry experience.

Passion for Earnin’s mission.

Effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities.

Proven expertise in managing social media accounts.

Experience leading external agencies.

Demonstrated knowledge in developing, deploying, and activating media & communication campaigns with measurable business impact.

Demonstrated knowledge in developing strategic and tactical communication plans.

Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail.

Must be a self-starter.

Must be a creative and strategic thinker with good judgment and ability to make independent decisions in a changing environment.

Consummate team player with a great attitude who is happy to assist with all projects.

Strong discretion and integrity handling confidential information.

Must move projects to timely completion working with multiple busy executives with competing priorities.

Excellent organization and time-management skills, including ability to multi-task, continually re-prioritize, and self-manage deadlines.

Experience in public policy, political engagement, and/or corporate and private foundations a plus.

Thrive in a cross-functional environment and can effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and teams.
