Your design will be subject to safety and efficacy requirements.Required Qualifications and Abilities:As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be to:Participate in and influence the design of a novel machine vision system for surgical robotics applications.Work closely with product teams to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Lead the design, implementation, and testing of data and image acquisition software, processing algorithms, and hardware communication protocols.Implement, test, and benchmark OCT and camera system performance.Perform rapid software prototyping and design iterations to validate concepts.Follow medical device design and development processes to allow traceability and team-wide collaboration.Work collaboratively and efficiently in a fast-paced start-up environment with minimal supervision and guidance.Required Qualifications:B.S. degree in software engineering, computer science, vision science, or a related discipline.5+ years’ experience in optical imaging, image processing, or related disciplines.Expert in C/C++ and at least familiarity with CUDA and Python.Prior experience with high data rate and low latency systems.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with OCT systems and/or high throughput digitization systems.Experience working with camera hardware and communication interfaces.Experience with common image processing algorithms (debayering, distortion correction, CLAHE).Experience with stereo vision systems.Prior experience working in regulated environments (e.g., medical, automotive, aerospace).Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams.This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-tech startup that is poised to revolutionize surgical robotics in ophthalmology.
