ALARM DESIGNER (Remote)JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Coordinate onsite surveys with operations team.Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based on both site surveys and architectural printsCalculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to endSubmit drawings and track the review processes with multiple AHJ’sCoordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractorsModify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document controlAssist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applicationsAssist sales department with system configuration, take-offs, specification review and code applications for estimating projectsMaintain project drawing files and recordsParticipate in design turnover and bid review meetingsKnowledge:High School diploma or GED is requiredConstruction experience is a plusWork Experience:Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CADAPS State of TX or NICET III preferred
Skills and Competencies:Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NECAbility to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawingsAbility to maintain accurate and auditable recordsAbility to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environmentStrong customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and qualityProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and OutlookPhysical Requirements90% office Setting, including sitting, some bending, some lifting, walking and viewing.10% with flexibility for site visits and company events.
