The Marketing team is specifically focused on driving attendance and admission revenue by establishing the museum's advertising plan, including creative development and media buying; leveraging digital channels, including social media and email; and implementing strategic partnerships.

ABOUT THE POSITIONDevelop and implement the museum's social media strategy, working toward the goals of furthering the museum's brand and reputation, increasing engagement, and driving attendance. Create original daily content that features institutional priorities and the breadth of the museum's collection. Foster growth, engagement, and dialogue among the museum's 1.6MM+ followers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Strategy:

Develop content strategy for the museum's prioritized social media channels-Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X/Twitter-ensuring that we are providing engaging, informative, worthwhile content that tells the story of our collection and rotating exhibitions in addition to promoting events, educational programming, and innovative projects. Develop a deep familiarity with our online audience and their needs and preferences. Monitor and share updates to trends, emerging platforms, and feature changes across the social media landscape.

Content Production:

Collaborate with internal video and design teams and other colleagues from across the museum to create new content and elevate institutional priorities. Responsible for social media content production including creating and sourcing image, video, influencer collaborations, and user-generated content. Role will also be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and gaining approvals for all social media posts, as well as determining best practice strategies for timing and frequency of posts. Maintain a monthly content calendar. Collaborate with marketing colleagues to balance paid and organic posts.

Analytics:

Develop and maintain a structured test plan specific to each channel to grow and maintain followers. Define key performance indicators and implement reporting methods to gauge success. Community Engagement: Manage community participation and foster robust engagement. Participate in conversations that surround our brand, responding to comments and asking/answering questions, translating feedback into actionable recommendations. Foster constructive dialogue and conversations centered around the Art Institute and its offerings.

Brand Management:

Monitor brand sentiment through social channels and escalate issues when necessary. Collaborate with PR, HR, and security teams for crisis communication. Lead the development of organization-wide social media management standards, policies, and rules of engagement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; must be able to remain in astationary position 90% of the time.Occasionally moves about the office to access office machinery, around the building to attendmeetings, and into the galleries.QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of three years of experience in social media productionProven ability to develop social strategy, driving follower growth and engagement across multipleplatforms. Must provide examples of past work for review at the time of interviewProficient in social media analytics and management tools, such as Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, and Instagram Insights with the ability to make data-driven decisions and testing recommendationsAn eye for visual communications; interest in trends and innovation with a record of generating new ideasExperience working cross-departmentally, particularly with videographers, graphic designers, and editorial teamsExceptional storytelling skills, with the ability to tell complex stories in a compelling mannerStrong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meetdeadlines.Basic Photoshop, Adobe Suites, and video production/editing skills preferredDesire to work in a mission-driven organization committed to equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.The successful candidate should:Be self-motivated, results-oriented, collaborative, and strategic thinker interested in thevisual arts.Pay close attention to details, but be able to see how efforts fit in the big picture.Be willing to work a variable schedule, including nights and weekends when needed
