We are currently searching for an experienced

Transportation Designer

to support our Southwest Region located in

Cottonwood Heights, UT . Relocation assistance available if needed.

What you’ll be doing:

Prepare quantities and develop PS&E packages supporting highway design projectsPrepare temporary traffic control plans and traffic management plan (TMP) as part of maintenance of traffic (MOT) activitiesPrepare permanent signing and pavement marking plansPrepare traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodationsPrepare streetlight design plan and perform photometric analysis using AGi32Prepare Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design plansAssist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reportsAttend project meetings with clients as neededWhat you need to have:

BS in Civil Engineering0 - 4 years of transportation engineering experienceProficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCADFamiliarity with DOT traffic design standards, MUTCD and AASHTOFamiliarity with traffic programs including Synchro/SimTraffic, HCSLocal state DOT experience is preferredSelf-starter and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversightAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and writtenCharacteristics of a successful Volkert team member:
