MeatEater, Inc. is seeking a highly-organized and creative person to join MeatEater’s Content team as a

Social Media Intern.

The Social Media Intern is a part-time role responsible for the day-to-day management of MeatEater’s social media channels and feeds. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in social media at a leading outdoor industry organization. You will work closely with the Social Media Manager, Community and Social Coordinator, and Content team to ensure social media channels maximize both equity and sales. The ideal candidate will be organized, team-oriented, and have experience with copywriting and Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and/or TikTok. Interest in hunting, fishing, and conservation is a plus!The Social Media Internship program is a 10-20 hours/week internship that would support the department needs for MeatEater, Inc./Brands.*Candidate must be currently enrolled in university or receiving advanced education and must be eligible for college credit. RequirementsWrite, proof, and schedule posts on social media platformsHelp manage comments and direct messages across all social media channelsCreate visually appealing multimedia content within all social media channelsAssist in writing attention-grabbing copy for all social media posts, maintaining consistency in the brand voice and avoiding any grammatical or off-brand copyCreate regular reports encompassing key performance indicators for social channelsInternship Program DetailsBi-monthly in person meetings with Social and Content teamsTraining workshops to develop social skillsHands on experience in a real world social media workflowOpportunity to meet and network with key department members and leadership across the organizationEmployee engagement event participation welcomed and encouragedHR Support and optional resume and cover letter building workshopPart time/flexible schedule, 10-20 hours/week - based on intern’s credit needsRequirementsMUST be enrolled in college and seeking college credit for internshipStudying and/or pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, or related fieldPrevious experience in social media or copywriting comparable area of expertiseArticulate and professional communication skills with the ability to adapt to the unique brand voicesPassion for the outdoorsPreferred QualificationsProven ability to drive progress in a start-up environmentInterest in hunting, fishing, wild-game cooking and conservation
