As a Scrap Metal Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process of scrap metal from various sources, overseeing the entire cycle from initial quoting to final payment. This position requires strong sales acumen, customer relationship management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and maintaining relationships with existing customers while actively seeking opportunities to expand the customer base. You will also be tasked with identifying and implementing strategies to enhance profitability within established pricing guidelines.

Responsibilities

What You Will DoResponsible for entire process of procuring scrap metal from all generators, from quoting though payment.Develop and maintain existing customer relationships.Generate opportunities and build relationships with new and prospective customers.Retain and maintain profitable accounts within established pricing guidelines.Identify and implement margin opportunities with existing accounts.Take proactive measures to quickly resolve external/internal customer service issues.Complete paperwork to meet deadlines.All other tasks as assigned.Qualifications

What We Look For

Bachelor's degree in related field.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Previous sales or scrap buying experience.Working knowledge of scrap pricing, material identification, costs, operations, and transportation.Ability to generate and qualify leads and close deals.Ability to empathize with others with the intent of turning a difficult situation in to a positive outcome.Intermediate to expert level with Microsoft products, with ability to quickly learn new software programs.Ability to work independently and in team setting.Ability to prioritize while working multiple tasks with specific deadlines.Flexible schedule and travel required.
