Background:

Hartford Athletic is Connecticut's professional soccer team competing in the United Soccer League. Position Summary:

The Marketing & Communications intern reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager and is responsible for promoting the club through owned assets and earned media. The position will include management of team information, website, and email content in addition to supporting partnership and match day activations. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of soccer, a foundation in marketing and communications, a desire to communicate with fans and the ability to produce creative and innovative content that drives engagement with the brand.

Duties & Responsibilities:Assist leadership in the development of a brand position and a consistent brand message through all internal and external forms of communication, including digital media and content, game operations, events and fan communicationsSupport the development of departmental publications (e.g., match recap, media advisories, media guide, etc.)Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within industry and local market mediaMonitor and report on team coverage in the local and national mediaCompile, archive and distribute local and national media clipsAttend and work all home games during internshipContribute to coverage of all road matches during internshipHelp maintain and update all Hartford Athletic social platformsPitch content ideasAssist conducting interviews with Hartford Athletic players and coachesAssist writing and editing featuresPerform research on popular trendsCreate and execute social media contests and promotionsSpecific Job Knowledge and Qualifications:

Must have a strong knowledge of soccerNews writing and editing skillsExperience with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTokExperience with Adobe Suite including, but not limited to, Photoshop and Premier ProAbility to work nights, weekends and holidays on an as-needed basis as well as for all match days during internshipAbility to speak Spanish preferred but not requiredThe position will require in-person work
