Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Marketing Representative in Dallas, TX who will conduct high-level and complex marketing assignments for assigned petroleum products with minimal supervision. Assist with planning and implementing long term marketing strategies.

Job Duties

Maintains and further develops current client base and pursues opportunities to expand client baseEvaluates assigned petroleum product: monitors petroleum product inventories; monitors daily and monthly assigned petroleum product pricing and implements pricing strategiesCollects and analyzes market research to verify price information and to identify other potential sales opportunitiesAssists management with developing and implementing long term marketing, sales, and pricing strategies. Makes daily pricing decisions and negotiates sales contractsAssists with crisis management in response to supply interruptions which may include production, loading, rack, or transportation issuesSupports other company departments with assigned petroleum product transactionsRepresents the company at industry functions and association meetingsMay perform some or all of the following depending upon role:

Contacts existing and prospective wholesale distributors, bulk buyers, and/or feedstock suppliers and builds business relationshipsCoordinates closely with wholesale marketers to achieve marketing goals and objectives for assigned petroleum product as well as day-to-day salesCoordinates with product development and refinery to produce specialized products for a client's specific needsDevelops new products and markets for specialized petroleum products.Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of five years of on-the-job experience specifically related to the job are required.

Preferred Experience

Experience in assigned petroleum product is preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, in a technical, business or related field, is required.

Preferred Education

MBA with an undergraduate degree in chemistry or other technical related field is preferred.

Required Skills

Advanced crisis management skills: ability to handle situations involving conflicts arising out of products being off specification, short/long term refinery/logistical/human error problems causing product outages, customer complaints, etc. Self-starter with drive and ability to achieve planned objectives. Strong creative, organizational, analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to create mutual respect with peers and a positive work environment. Advanced ability to perform a variety of assignments as they relate to performing assigned petroleum product marketing, and effectively executing sales opportunities and multi-tasking. Working knowledge of Microsoft products. Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, advanced reading and writing skills, and an ability to perform intermediate level mathematical calculations. Depending upon assignment, the ability to understand the chemical/technical characteristics of specialized petroleum products.

Preferred Skills

An understanding of supply and distribution and refining procedures preferred.

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 50% travel by land and air required. Occasionally will be required to work in petroleum refinery environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, and tanks. Ability and willingness to relocate. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
