Who are we looking for?
GHD's Northeast Fire Protection & Life Safety business is looking for a
Fire Protection Designer
to join their team! In this role, you will support a wide variety of projects involving fire protection system design, evaluation, and construction administration for both public and private sector clients throughout the Northeast.
In an ever changing world, it requires creativity and innovation to stay ahead.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:Developing drawings and specifications for fire suppression systems (including special suppression systems) in AutoCAD and REVITPerforming computerized hydraulic calculations for fire protection systemsPerforming drawing reviews for compliance with building and fire codes and contract documentsPerforming reviews of contractor's shop drawings, product data and calculationsObserving installation of fire protection system for compliance with contract documents and preparing field reportsWhat you will bring to the team:
National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certification in Water Based Fire Suppression3-8 years of experience in the fire protection industryExpertise in design technology and processes, in particular with Revit & AutoCADWorking knowledge of ICC codes and NFPA StandardsKnowledge, interpretation and application of relevant client, industry standardsProven ability to build positive relationships across diverse teams and client groupsRobust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues conciselyA passion for design and innovation
Salary range: $30.00 - $40.00 based on experience
