Job SummaryProvides physicians and patients with support needed to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders and the promotion of good sleep.Essential Functions+ Performs diagnostic sleep testing, including but not limited to order interpretation, medication administration, patient hook-up and monitoring, BLS responsibility, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) initiation and titration, oxygen administration, and other related duties.+ Analyzes data collected during sleep testing, including but not limited to staging, calculation of appropriate indices, and other related activities.+ Documents findings / patient responses in a manner consistent with documentation guidelines.+ Maintains equipment for proper function and operation.+ Evaluates patients' and significant others' educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or makes appropriate referrals.+ Mentors polysomnographic technicians with regard to all aspects of sleep medicine.
