As a member of our resort leadership team, the primary role of a Director of Event Planning is to function as the Strategic Business Leader of Event Management, which includes overseeing the departments of Event Planning, Banquets, Event Service, and Event Technology. This role is responsible for developing and implementing departmental strategies and initiatives and ensuring a seamless turnover of hotel events from Sales to Operations and back to Sales. This role plays a key role in developing and implementing hotel-wide strategies that deliver services to exceed the needs and expectations of resort's customers by understanding the market, analyzing customer preferences, and aligning event management operations accordingly.

Some key components of the role will include:

Strategize and Execute : Develop and implement a comprehensive event management strategy that aligns with the resort's business goals, ensuring seamless coordination and successful execution of events.Team Leadership and Communication : Lead and motivate the event operations team through regular meetings, pre-event briefings, and effective communication, focusing on key priorities and departmental goals.Market Analysis and Innovation : Conduct research on competitors and market trends, introducing innovative ideas to maintain a competitive edge and enhance the event experience.Customer Engagement and Satisfaction : Foster a guest-centric atmosphere by engaging with customers, addressing feedback, and ensuring excellent service throughout the event experience.Financial and Operational Management : Oversee budgeting, financial performance, and resource allocation for event management departments, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and ensuring optimal financial results.Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa is widely recognized as one of the finest resorts in the Birmingham area and all of central Alabama. Affectionately known as "The Castle", the resort has recently undergone a beautiful renovation, a pool expansion, and the onsite golf course is the fifth-longest course in the world and a destination for golfers from around the world. The event spaces include 18 event rooms, over 25,000 feet of space, and a capacity of a over 1,000 in the largest room. The resort hosts a wide array of weddings, corporate meetings, social events, and much more!
