Please attach to your resume or email it to: Resumes@Exec.ny.gov*The New York State Executive Chamber is looking for a Social Media Manager to join our Creative Team. The Social Media Manager will be a critical part of the Creative Team; a team that is responsible for managing and creating content for a variety of digital channels including, but not limited to: social media, graphic copy, email, SMS, and web content. This position reports to the Director of Digital Strategy.The Social Media Manager will be responsible for planning and executing the social media strategy for Governor Kathy Hochul and the State of New York, in addition to coordinating across Executive Chamber departments and State agencies to inform New Yorkers about the many initiatives and policies that impact their daily lives.Responsibilities include:Working with the Director of Digital Strategy and other members of the team, planning and implementing a social media strategy that helps achieve the Executive Chambers communications goals through written content, infographics, photo, and video.Collaborating with members of the Creative, Speechwriting, Press, Constituency, Intergovernmental Affairs, and Policy teams to ensure all content is engaging, accurate, and in the proper voice.Leading the Creative teams efforts to identify and capitalize on social media moments and trends to engage New Yorkers on important issues.Managing a robust daily, weekly, and monthly social media content calendar.Identifying social media thought leaders and content creators to engage in our digital partnership efforts.Attending events to capture social media content and film social media content with Governor Hochul.Creating social media toolkits and guidance for partners and validators.Working with teams across the Executive Chamber to find creative ways to reach key constituencies via social media.Following best practices, style guidelines, and agency policies to produce high-quality and accurate work.Note: This role will sometimes involve being on call to work after typical work hours, including weekends.Minimum qualifications:A Bachelors degree and at least three years of experience in social media management and/or digital content creationHave exceptional writing/communications skills especially in writing for social mediaBe intimately familiar with various social media platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)Be up to date on the social media and digital trends of the momentHave a great sense of organization, attention to detail, ability to act fast, and think on their feetBe able to share a portfolio of recent creative content ideas (either via professional or personal work)Preferred qualifications include:Experience working in government, on political campaigns, or for a high-profile principalExperience working with digital-first thought leaders and content creatorsBasic familiarity with content creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and/or other graphic design and video editing software
