Missouri Botanical Garden, St. Louis, Missouri, United States of AmericaJob Description Posted Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 5:00 AMSummary: The Creative Services Supervisor is responsible for managing the Creative Services team and guiding the team in development and execution of internal creative projects. This position leads the design and development of graphic solutions to the highest standards which fulfill the communication needs of clients within the Garden. The Creative Services Supervisor plays an integral role in developing and complying with brand standards and executing strategic design solutions for all projects.The Creative Services Supervisor oversees the day-to-day workload associated with creative services requests while also demonstrating detail-oriented production oversight; In addition, the individual in this role must be able to facilitate professional interactions and communications with vendors and the marketing team. The Creative Services and Production Supervisor is an experienced, creative problem solver who can anticipate project needs and think on their feet. Must be able to deliver a wide variety of projects on time and on budget, manage and anticipate rapid change, and streamline work processes.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:? Manages Creative Services team and guides team in development and execution of creative collateral that include print, signage, digital display as well as other creative projects as needed.? Oversees projects and the workflow for the Creative Service Department. Assigns and schedules work based on project priority and creative staff capacity.? Manages department project management software. ? Monitors projects through all phases of production. Adjusts internal projects scheduled and deadlines accordingly based on project needs.? Reviews and approves completed work for formatting, accuracy, and general appearance in accordance with brand standards.? Defines scope of work for each project in consultation with Garden departments.? Reviews proposals and bids from potential vendors. Selects appropriate bids and manages vendor support as necessary.? Thinks creatively to produce new ideas and presents solutions to internal teams while adhering to established brand guidelines and standards.? Coordinates with department heads and project leaders to ensure accurate, cost effective, and timely delivery of projects while adhering to client budget and time constraints.? Meets expected attendance guidelines.? Follows and adheres to established policies and procedures, including but not limited to Employee Handbook, Garden Safety Guidelines and Department Policies.? Behaves and communicates in a manner that promotes and fosters a culture of teamwork and cooperation, within our division and throughout the Garden, with co-workers, supervisors/managers, volunteers, visitors, and employees.? Minimum of 3 years staff supervision experience required.? Strong knowledge of print, editorial, and information design.? Thorough understanding of printing process, photography, illustration, and typography expected.? Exceptional ability to meet and execute aggressive deadlines.? Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal team members and external organizations to complete various projects.? Must possess a strong creative view with the ability to present new ideas concisely and clearly.? Scheduling flexibility in a hybrid working environment.? Must demonstrate highest level of professional and ethical conduct; maintain confidentiality; and possess the ability to remain calm and in control throughout all phases of the design and production process.? Proficient experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Workspace preferred.? Solid Internet research skills a must.? Experience with project management software (Monday.com, Asana, Lytho) preferred.? Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) a plus.Physical Demands:? Manual dexterity to operate computer or make manual sketches and drawings as required.? Visual acuity (with correction) sufficient to make artistic judgments about layout and design.? Ability to utilize computer keyboard (typing).? Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds.? May be required to perform tasks at varying heights (i.e., climb step stools, ladders, etc.).? Frequent standing, reaching and bending - 50% or more of the workday, at times, may be spent standing on feet or sitting.? Principally operates standard office equipment to include computers, copiers, files, fax machines.? Indoor office setting, shared by multiple staff; noise level is usually moderate.? Standard business casual attire required.? Ability to work outdoors in temperatures over 100F as well as in inclement weather conditions as needed.?
