Role Overview:

As the Mechanical Design Sub-Section Manager for the Engine Starting Products team, the candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers that design and develop products and technical solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a quickly growing team launching a new, successful product and technology into the market. The scope also includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components as well as activities to support new business and product opportunities. This candidate will have significant input into the team's priorities and will make decisions to impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team' work.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Design Sub-Section Manager will be the direct leader of the design engineering group supporting Engine Starting Products. This leader will serve as the best practice resource for the design process. They will contribute to long-term strategy of the products as well as design process and procedure updates and developments.

In addition, this sub-section manager will:Drive execution of NPI commitments and projects to be met on time and budget.Lead high level schedule and budget estimating activities relative to Engine Starting Products design projects.Resource plan to meet customer and internal deliverables.Collaborate with Supply Chain teams in development of project expectations and execution.Collaborate with the Engine Starting Products test organization to align priorities and resources for testing needs and requirements.Participate as a reviewer in technical and program reviews.Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned projects.Mentor and give guidance to less experienced engineers.Have in-depth knowledge of best practices and how the Unison Engine Starting Products team integrates with others; have working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in design engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.Required Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited College or UniversityMinimum of 5 years of engineering experience with aerospace and/or industrial productsPreferred Qualifications :

People leadership / Team leadership experienceRotating Mechanical Parts design experienceCustomer focused (communicating with and understanding needs)Ability to build relationships and work across a matrix organizationHigh level of engagement and energyDemonstrated project management / resource management skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated customer service mindset with ability to adapt to changeStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problemsAbility to document, plan, market, and execute programs
