Job DescriptionThe Complex Director of Sales position will be responsible for the overall sales and marketing efforts for two metro-area upscale hotels. Provides day-to-day leadership and direction to both sales teams by maximizing financial returns, driving development of the team, creating and maintaining a unique client and guest experience, executing on brand standards. Must be knowledgeable in Hilton systems, and be able to build brand awareness of hotel properties in the community and beyond.

Core Job Responsibilities

Driving SalesMust be hands-on and be able to meet personal sales goals while simultaneously creating and implementing plans for the team to prospect, market, and attract the best possible business mix for assigned hotels.Ensures sales and marketing processes generate maximum profit for assigned hotels.Involves Food & Beverage team as well as Front Office Sales & Marketing departments in cross-selling; coaches the team to partner and refer business to one another to increase total revenue in the hotels.Executes tactical sales and marketing activities according to business demands.Collaborates with the Front Office Managers/Supervisors to develop up-selling programs for the hotels. This may include prospecting efforts with respective brand's Reservations/Call Centers.Demonstrates knowledge of key features and benefits of the brands and considers why those benefits would be valuable to clients, resulting in increased brand loyalty.Acts as a strategic business partner to key accounts. Talks with key accounts about their business challenges. Listens and partners to find ways the hotels can solve clients' business challenges. Helps clients be creative in imagining the possibilities of their piece of business at assigned hotels.Reviews production reports and other sales metrics to consistently evaluate potential revenue and overall financial expectations for each account.Generates maximum revenue by effectively managing sales budgets, expenses, flow-through and recovery.2.

Planning and Marketing

Partners with the GMs and corporate marketing team to help develop the overall sales & marketing plans and budgets for assigned hotels and assists with formulating effective strategies.Actively participates in the hotel's budgeting process and understands how sales & marketing strategies and activities impact the top and bottom-line of the hotel; Uses this information and strategizes with the Sales Team.Champions, promotes, and increases awareness of the brand through effective marketing strategies.Finds opportunities for self and team to have a presence in the market place in representing your hotel as well as your brand. Looks at memberships in industry organizations, associations, board positions, and any possible networking activities, and any other opportunities to showcase your assigned hotels.Continually expands expertise of the market and explores ways to differentiate your brand in the market.3.

Sales Leadership/Training

Directs sales & marketing activities, and holds weekly sales meetings with team.Sets individual and team goals, measures progress.Analyzes the most recent hotel Profit and Loss Statement (P&L) and motivates the hotel sales teams to execute action steps to meet or exceed budgeted numbers are met in all segments.Tailors style to meet the supervisory and leadership needs of the teams. Coaches and supports teams in appropriate learning and development initiatives.Recognizes and rewards effective performance and execution of sales deliverables.Prepares and conducts employee reviews and completes any required timecard approvals for non-exempt sales team members.Experience and SkillsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in hotel sales; or an equivalent number of years of education and sales experienceProven track record of great guest services scores, meeting brand standards, solid business references and national brand experience strongly preferredExcellent verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with community partners, vendors, external parties, and across internal divisionsAbility to learn and understand profit and loss statements, as well as the ability to assist GM and DOSM to create and adhere to an annual budgetA passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman AssociatesSchedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotelWORK ENVIRONMENT
