The Zillow Mover Experience team is looking for a Principal Product Designer to join us with an opportunity to make a big impact at Zillow. This person will partner with a senior team to re-envision the future IA and foundation for Zillow. Success in this role will be longterm transformation of our product through compelling foundational IA and navigation, and design solutions and systems to support a wide range of user needs and team goals.

About the role

As a principal product designer, you're responsible for uncovering insights, building a strong opinion, setting a high quality vision, and articulating your vision through impressive designs and compelling experiences. As a design leader, you develop positive relationships, provide mentorship to other designers, and work with others to elevate design quality. You will play a critical role in how Zillow realizes that vision, helping us shape and deliver high quality and innovative experiences that will build momentum for our teams, customers, and business. You Will Get To:Leading design strategy, vision, and concepting for key initiatives that will shape the future of Zillow

Hands on design for digital experiences for web, iOS, Android, operator platforms, and real life

Advocate for customer needs and ensure that designs address customer goals

Collaborate with product managers, researchers, content designers, and engineers

Lead design activities like problem definition, storytelling, journey mapping, co-design sessions, prototyping, design critique, and user testing

Present design work and regularly engage with partners for feedback

Lead complex projects independently and deliver high-quality and innovative work on time

Partner with other designers to ensure design consistency and excellence

Share expertise, design critique, and mentorship to help others develop skills

Be a trendsetter in design, propose work that raises the quality bar of Zillow design

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $167,900.00 - $268,100.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

7-10 years as a product designer, user experience designer, design lead, or similar role

An exceptional designer with a focus on innovation, concepting, and high craft digital experiences

Strong visual design, user experience, and prototyping skills, animation experience a plus

Ability to interpret data and use it to inform strategic direction and design decisions

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Experience building relationships and working optimally with diverse, cross-functional teams

Someone who is on top of design trends and is always looking for ways to raise the bar

An advocate for designing and building for everyone with accessibility in mind

Experience providing critique and direction that helps designers deliver their best work

Experience pulling a thread of customer insights from user research

Experience crafting products and services using human-centered design principles

Experience shipping products that get meaningful results for customers and businesses

Not afraid to make a decision, take a risk, or try something new

Examples of high quality interaction, visual design work, and storytelling in a compelling design portfolio

Examples of critical thinking, creativity, and risk-taking in design projects

Expertise with Figma, and high fidelity prototyping tools
