Job Overview

The fiber optic design assistant will be responsible for assessing service areas for fiber opticplanning and design, preparing construction packages for issuance, and processing designdocuments/data for project completion and closeout.

Responsibilities:

§ Communicate with team members via email, internal messaging systems, and remote web conferencing software where necessary.

§ Maintain and update internal project trackers and spreadsheets as required.

§ Assist in creating and modifying civil and cable drawings using CAD and/or GIS software.

§ Utilize all available tools to maintain high volume work output.

§ Escalate difficult issues as required to prevent delays in deliverables.

§ Ensure that deliverables produced adhere to client standards and specifications.

§ Adhere to the company's approved processes and procedures.

§ Other duties as required.

Skills/ RequirementsRequired Qualifications:

§ Possess logical reasoning to work through a problem and find a solution.

§ Computer literacy and efficiency with a focus on Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

§ Must have a high attention to detail and ability to review their own work for compliance with client standards.

§ Must be able to interpret construction drawings.

§ Flexible and professional approach to work.

§ Excellent interpersonal skills.

§ Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.

§ Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision.

§ Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously.Desired Qualifications:

§ 1 or more years of utility industry experience.

§ Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative.

§ Ability to handle competing priorities and apply prioritization of tasks for work completion.

§ Ability to train, coach, and share job knowledge with team members.

§ Ability to document work processes and compile process documents on how to complete job functions.
