JOB FAMILY SUMMARY PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Director-Corporate Communications & Marketing, the Communications Designer is responsible for growing, shaping and maintaining El Paso Electric’s (EPE) reputation and brand. The Communications Designer will conceptualize and create designs concepts and layouts, and produce digital, video and photographic content for EPE’s website, print, digital and social media channels to support the marketing, advertising, public relations and community relations efforts that align with EPE’s mission, vision and values.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design,

OR

related field required.

EXPERIENCE:

0 - 3 years or more of experience required.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Experience in graphic design, social media, or related fields.Proficiency in multimedia design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro).Experience in graphic design, video production, and photography.Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of multimedia projects.Proficient writing and editing skills.Attention to detail with the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with strict deadlines.Ability to work with third-party vendors, etc.Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.Valid driver's license and must comply with the Company's Driving Policy.Fluency in English/Spanish (written and verbal), preferred.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist in building and executing social media strategies through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification;Graphic design of high-quality print and digital content, including video, internal communications, collateral, brochures, ads, photography, presentations, email marketing, and web updates as assigned;Editing and producing engaging photo and video content for social media, websites, and other communication channelsCoordinate and send out all social media and Constant Contact emails, including newsletters, announcements, and event invitations;Create and execute editorial calendars;Collaborate with various departments to gather content and ensure accurate and engaging communications;Monitor and report metrics for SEO, email campaigns, website, and other digital media performance;Ensure consistency and adherence to the organization's branding guidelines across all communication materialsSource and edit written and visual content for communication platforms, e.g, website, social media, public relations, and e-communications, in support of company strategies;Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and code of ethics, as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations, including employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.Perform other related tasks that are not included but are within the context of the duties defined.WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The incumbents in this classification are subject to both outside and inside environmental conditions and temperature changes.May work irregular and non-standard hours.
