Essential Job Duties

Manage and activate targeted email campaigns aimed at increasing donor onboarding, engagement, retention, and satisfactionDeployment of regular and automated email campaigns, including campaign planning, segmentation, scheduling, and activationManaging and optimizing automated lifecycle email campaigns to increase donor engagement with the email channel, leveraging content personalization, localization, dynamic content, and behavioral targetingDefining email principles (frequency, relevance, etc.) for both promotional and transactional emails, continuously aligning with stakeholders to ensure consistent governance and use of email capabilities, minimizing donor fatigueDeveloping, writing, and executing email marketing strategies to effectively engage donors, focusing on driving engagement, driving program understanding, providing valuable resources, and fostering relationshipsUtilizing data-driven insights to segment donor lists and personalize email content based on donor behavior, preferences, and lifecycle stageCollaborating with the content team to produce engaging and relevant content for email campaigns, including campaign updates, business updates, best practices, and donor storiesManaging third-party agencies to create content and strategize campaignsLiaising with production vendors as needed; manage associated budgetsConducting A/B tests to optimize email performance, including open rates, click-through rates, and conversion ratesMonitoring and analyzing key email marketing metrics and KPIs to track campaign performance, identify trends, and make data-driven optimizationsProviding regular reporting and insights on email campaign performance, including recommendations for optimization and future strategiesWorking collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of email campaigns within integrated marketingStaying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in email marketing and incorporating relevant insights into our strategiesMaintaining national calendar of campaigns and keeping colleagues informed of plansQualifications

5+ years of experience in digital marketing, advertising, and/or paid social media.Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Sociology, or Multimedia.A portfolio that includes digital campaigns.A strong understanding of digital marketing, including best practices on various platforms; and the ability to quickly adapt to new technology.Exceptional communication (storytelling) skills are required.Excellent writing skills, including grammar, editing, fact-checking, and proofreading capabilities.Working knowledge of Excel and Stripo or another email marketing tool, such as Constant Contact, or MailChimp. Knowledge of Luminate Online a plus.Working knowledge of WordPress and social media platforms.Familiarity with database systems, such as Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge.Self-starter with the confidence and ability to tackle new initiatives with little guidance.Excellent project management and organizational skills.
