This vital role on the marketing team will partner with the Senior Director of Digital Marketing on overall social media strategy for AKC, create social content, and collaborate across departments. You're an excellent and creative communicator who can balance multiple projects while engaging social media communities in meaningful ways and driving results. A love of all things dog is a big plus, too!

*This role is hybrid requiring 3 days per week onsite in our NYC office.

Primary Job Duties

Lead day-to-day execution of social media marketing strategy across all channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Threads, etc.Create and curate high-quality social content in the right storytelling formats on the right platformsManage social media calendar, ensuring inputs across priorities and approvals from relevant SMEsEngage social audiences and moderate the community as needed (and use tools to automate this)Adhere to editorial best practices for the brand, including tone, voice, styleguide, fact-checking and photography standardsUse performance metrics and social listening tools to drive daily decisions, and regularly present insights that can inform and improve longer-term social planning on a weekly basisPartner with the Social Media Producer to brainstorm and pitch new social media ideas that align with audience interest and brand prioritiesBuild, grow and manage influencer network for ongoing social campaignsSupport AKC tentpole events to drive brand awareness and engagementAssist customer support department when incoming direct messages warrant escalationDrive traffic from social channels to AKC-owned channels and websites, as relevantCollaborate with sponsorship & sales teams on sponsored social media programsUtilize social advertising to optimize the performance of key metrics and support advertising initiativesCollaborate with and support cross-functional teams, including content, email, PR, ecommerce and advertising on ongoing initiatives and projectsRequired Skills, Specialized Knowledge, and Competency Requirements

Demonstrated social media platform (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Threads, Pinterest, etc) expertiseSocial media management software such as Sprout Social, Dash Hudson, Hootsuite, etc.Creating and managing basic paid social campaignsBasic video editing skills/toolsetGraphic creation/editing using tools like CanvaCuriosity about evolving trends in social platforms, social content, tools, and culture, and advocacy for best business useExceptional written and oral communication skillsAbility to collaborate with day-to-day colleagues as well as present to and persuade executives

The salary range for this position in New York City is $90,000 - $98,000/year; however salary offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
