We are seeking a talented and creative Audio Algorithms Software Engineer to join our audio technology team.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing advanced audio signal processing algorithms that enhance the sound experience in the premier cars of the future.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing algorithms for a range of applications from speech signal processing to high fidelity sound playback.

You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that enhance speech quality, improve the listening experience in the car cabin and push the boundaries of audio technology.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop advanced audio signal processing algorithms for applications that include acoustic echo reduction, noise reduction, sound enhancement, and spatial audioImplement and optimize audio DSP algorithms in C and C++ for real-time processing on embedded hardware systemsConduct research on state-of-the-art audio technologies and contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolioCollaborate with hardware engineers to ensure efficient implementation of algorithms on target platformsDevelop, debug and maintain audio signal processing libraries and frameworksPerform algorithm comparative analysis, benchmarking, and optimization to meet performance and quality targetsCreate and execute test plans to validate solutions and verify performance and qualityDocument technical requirements, specifications, algorithm designs, and test resultsStay current with emerging trends and technologies in audio signal analysis and processingMentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the teamEducation:Master's or Ph.D.

in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with a focus on signal processingYou Bring:Strong background in digital signal processing, particularly for audio applicationsProficiency in C++ programming, with experience in optimizing code for performance and efficiencyKnowledge of audio codecs, audio compression techniques, and psychoacousticsExperience with real-time audio systems and real-time OS constraintsFamiliarity with numerical processing tools such as MATLAB, Python, NumPy, SciPy or similarStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts clearlyPreferred Qualifications5+ years of experience in audio algorithm development for consumer electronics or professional audio productsExperience with version control systems and agile development methodologiesExperience with machine learning tools and techniques applied to audio processingFamiliarity with digital audio coding standards (e.g., Mpeg, Dolby, DTS)Knowledge of automatic speech recognition constraints and natural language processingPublications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences related to audio signal processingSalary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
