About this Position:

PPMNY seeks a Marketing & Outreach Associate as a part-time, hourly position. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized, and tech-savvy team member who can take on essential administrative tasks in outreach coordination and event marketing. The Associate will report to Lianna Levine Reisner and work closely with Hunter Gardner, PPMNY’s Communications Manager.A note about location:

PPMNY maintains a fully remote workplace.

While this is a work-from-home position, individuals must be local to New York City or surrounding counties and willing to occasionally travel to meetings and events in the metro area.A note about part-time availability:

include:Outreach & Program Assistance (50%):*Respond to requests for PPMNY to conduct outreach activities at locations around the metro area, such as community health fairs and festivals.

Note that this position is not required to attend outreach events.

Tasks include: a)Recruiting volunteers, speakers, and/or culinary educators from our network to represent PPMNY at these events. b) Organizing the deployment of PPMNY literature and supplies for all outreach events, including a PPMNY banner/sign, a sufficient amount of handouts/literature, forms to collect contact information, and any visual aids, give-aways, or merchandise for sale. (At this time, PPMNY generally does not sell merchandise at these events but may choose to in the future.) c) Ensuring that new contact information is collected for import into our database.Coordinate the sign-up process, launch, and logistics of quarterly Lifestyle Support Circles led by PPMNY’s mentor-facilitators.Provide other program assistance as assigned and as time allows.Post internal training videos on our Vimeo channel.*At this time, PPMNY’s Outreach Coordinator is out on medical leave. This position will cover the outreach coordinator’s core tasks until their return in Fall 2024, at which point some of these outreach responsibilities may change.Event Marketing & Administration (40%):Public event marketing: Execute marketing checklist for all in-person and virtual events. This includes coordinating with staff and volunteers to collect event details, publishing events online, and following up after events to collect recap blurbs and photos.Public event registration management: Create registration pages and automated confirmation emails in NeonCRM for both virtual and in-person events. Send registrants event reminders and occasionally follow-up emails.Social media: a) Post public events on virtual platforms, including PPMNY’s Meetup groups, on our Facebook Page, and occasionally other platforms like Eventbrite. b) Manage our YouTube channel by preparing content for posting; maintaining playlists, tags, and video descriptions; and reviewing and responding to comments as needed. c) Ensure that all PPMNY channels have accurate information about upcoming events, and that Facebook events are shared with PPMNY’s Facebook groups.Additional duties as needed.Participate in communications planning meetings.Administrative Tasks (10%):Respond to basic inquiries and community requests about our programming and/or addressed to our main email account.Manage tasks in Asana, and communicate in a timely fashion in Slack and email.Participate in monthly team calls with all volunteers and staff, and in bi-monthly staff meetings (one in-person and one virtual).Qualifications of the ideal candidate:Experience in marketing, data management, and/or event planning.Highly reliable and able to prioritize tasks effectively.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to represent PPMNY with warmth and professionalism in all interactions with community partners, volunteers, staff, and community members.Savvy with technology tools such as email marketing systems, social media, video platforms, and project management tools like Asana (or willingness to learn).Interest and experience in creating and maintaining systems for institutional memory and ease of replication.Passionate about the role of whole food, plant-based nutrition in health.Available to work set hours during the week while also flexibly responding to emergent needs in communications.Proficient if not fluent Spanish skills are preferred but not required.Tools:
