Plastic Extrusion Tooling Designer at Crafted Plastics Inc.Engineer or Tooling Designer with strong working background in extrusion processing and extrusion tooling design. Ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience designing and tuning profile and tubing extrusion tooling. Experience setting up and running thermoplastic extruders. Strong technical communication skills required. Willing to work at a small growing company in a dynamic environment.Primary responsibility of Tooling Designer will be designing and tuning of profile extrusion tooling including extrusion dies, co-extrusion & tri-extrusion dies, vacuum calibration tooling, vacuum chamber tooling, rigid & flexible tubing tooling and other required downstream tooling and fixturing. Designing and implementing in-line or on-line fabrication or fixturing. Designing post production fabrication fixturing, design fixturing for fabrication of parts using a CNC Router, have knowledge of programming CNC Routers. Must be familiar with both Mastercam & Fusion 360 software. Candidate must be resourceful, capable of researching and learning, be able to solve problems, and communicate solutions. Communication requires the capability of expressing complex problems in a simple manner to non-engineers. Tooling Designer will also perform general managing tasks and communicate with customers. Must be dynamic, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and willing to wear many hats . We are looking for an individual with the desire and drive to grow with a small dynamic company. BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from accredited university, would consider 4+ years of profile extrusion tooling design and tuning experience in lieu of degree.

Experience and courses related to plastics extrusion tooling design, extrusion processing and mechanics of materials.

Strong computer aptitude with working knowledge of CAD preferably Mastercam, Fusion 360 and Office software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work within a dynamic team environment.
