Associate Designer - Woman's WovensNatick, MAThe successful candidate will:Be located in the Greater Boston AreaHave 3 to 4 years experience as a Women's Apparel Designer focused on WovensBe able to work in the office 4 days per weekWe are NIC+ZOE, a fiercely female clothing brand led by designer, Dorian Lightbown and her daughter, Zoë. We are driven by one simple mission: to help women ignite their inner confidence.Founded in Boston in 2004, the brand is widely recognized for its knitwear, distinctive patterns, and sophisticated fits. Our customizable, versatile pieces are purposefully designed to help women feel just as good on the inside as they look on the outside.

Seeking a highly energized and creative Woven Designer, who will create and execute on the vision of the Chief Creative Officer. Candidates must have a passion for the NIC+ZOE brand and designing for our customer. Strong eye for trend, femininity, and color are important. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills with the ability to design from concept to finish amongst a tight knit team.The Woven Designer will be an integral member of the design and development function. The Designer will be working in a fast paced, flexible, and collaborative environment.The Woven Designer will report to the Senior Director of Woven + CAD.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

include but are not limited to:Ability to manage the design and development process from concept through final proto/sample, including but not limited to flat sketch, initial spec, and production fit approval.Presentation of concepts and ideas throughout the design and development processResponsible for market research as it relates to your category.Interpret the vision of the Chief Creative Officer, ensuring the brand aesthetic is in keeping with our customer lifestyle needs and at the center of all creative workPossess strong knowledge of garment construction and conduct fit sessions to help solve all problems that may occur during proto samples stageWork cross functionally with merchandising team to fulfill seasonal frameworksWork closely with production team on costing and problem solving as needed for the line developmentOwn fabric development of existing and new woven categoriesParticipate in all fittings, partner closely with tech designers to ensure product fit is as intendedKeep all visuals up to date

OWNERSHIPParticipate in creative collaboration across the design team.Drive and manage creative process to deliver projects on time and on budget; track and manage multiple project timelines in various stages of completion to ensure all timelines are met.Ensure creative output is consistently brand appropriateManage the design and development process from concept through final proto/sample, including but not limited to flat sketch, initial spec, tech packs, trim details and production fit approval.

QUALIFICATIONS + REQUIREMENTS4 year college degree in Apparel Design3 - 4 years of design experience with wovensHistory of contributing innovations within a collaborative environmentKnowledge of textiles and garment construction and finishesStrong fabric knowledgeExperience with manufacturing product in multiple countries simultaneously with multiple agents.Strong computer knowledge in PLM, Photoshop/IllustratorAbility to design around concept directionStrong sense of style, silhouette and colorStrong organizational, time management, communication and presentation skillsAbility to be flexible and adaptable in a fast paced environmentCreative problem solver with a positive can do attitudeAbility to motivate, lead and work well cross-functionallyPotential for International and domestic travel
