The Communications Manager will be responsible for creating social media content, marketing assets, and general organizational communications with the support of a Branding and Marketing Director.This role will also be responsible for developing and managing

Pass The Spatula

(PTS), a student-led food media internship. PTS provides an intensive experiential learning opportunity for high school students interested in design, food media, podcasting, and editorials. The CMM will oversee the interns and ensure clear outlines, deliverables, and correspondence align with a culminating Food Media Project (zine + podcast).COMPENSATION: The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and will be between $70,000 and $75,000.START DATE: This is a full-time position beginning in September 2024.BENEFITS: The Food Education Fund (FEF) offers all full-time employees a Health Insurance Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), Family Leave, Paid Sick Time, and 401(k) contributions. All full-time employees are eligible for 22 paid vacation days per year for their first full year (prorated dependent on start date) as well as two (2) floating holidays. Please contact the Executive Director for more information on employee benefits.REPORTING STRUCTURE: The Communications Manager will report to the Program Director and will have the following responsibilities (subject to change; any major changes will be discussed with the candidate):RESPONSIBILITIES:​​Content:Develop collateral for FEF, including social media posts, student-facing flyers, program collateral (non-fundraising), and special projectsPlanning, management, and execution of

a social media content calendarAlign tone/voice with overall FEF brandAnalyze data relevant to media and communications project progress, adapt scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure that we adhere to project requirementsPass the Spatula:Develop and execute a curriculum to support student education in food media/social mediaRecruit, retain, and train 10-12 Pass the Spatula internsLead weekly group and 1:1 meetings with PTS interns to outline deliverables for PTS project in alignment with the FEF program calendar and the concepts developed by the studentsMaintain communication with the internship manager to provide expected updates on intern progressManage any 3rd party vendors throughout the creation of annual PTS projects, including but not limited to designer, producer, illustrator, and printer.Community:Digital Community Management: Engage with and expand our digital community by managing and responding to social media inquiries, comments, and messages in a timely and professional mannerAttend networking events or relevant industry workshops as an FEF representativeLiaise with external agencies or journalists to ensure accurate brand representationGenerate and implement internal and external communication initiativesMetrics:Report on and analyze web traffic and social media metrics across all channelsCommunicate progress in a clear format to the FEF team and Board of Directors as neededEstablish short and long-term KPIs based upon these metrics, in collaboration with the EDSKILLS REQUIRED:Driven, excited, and up-to-date on cultural and social media trends/happeningsProficient in content creation on/for Instagram and TikTok and excited to create unique content for each platformExcellent writing skills and ability to accurately reflect brand voiceAsset Creation (Must be proficient in Canva)Writing, editing, layout design, and publishingSalesforceGoogle AnalyticsWeb managementCopywriting and copyeditingInterpersonal communication skillsEye for video and photo content creation.
