Are you a public relations professional with a passion for telling the stories behind the startups?We are seeking a strategic PR professional to elevate our client's (Filterbuy) profile across the business media and drive viewership/listenership on the company's digital and audio content (YouTube and podcast). Filterbuy is now an industry leader in the indoor air quality industry, but not by accident. Its founder & CEO, David Heacock, was a former Wall Street professional who left everything behind to disrupt the industry. His obsession with excellence and willingness to take risks no one else would have put Filterbuy in the leadership position they are in. We're excited to showcase the story.We're looking for a strong, strategic storyteller who can uncover the company and founder stories that will appeal most to business media, retail partners and customers, and deliver demonstrable growth in brand and founder reputation and awareness. The successful candidate will be able to identify and storytell around the business insights that demonstrate the company's unique strategies and guiding principles that have led to its success, as well as the advice and instruction that can help other founders and businesses to succeed as well.This role will also manage the identification and booking of guests, logistics, and briefing materials for the company's podcast, promote each episode as they publish, and identify strategic partnership opportunities to help drive podcast growth (ie, crossover episodes).As PR Director, you will have the opportunity to lead the company's PR and podcast booking efforts - a whole new vertical of the company - from the ground up. And while you'll largely be leading, you won't be at it alone. You'll develop relationships with top tier media and business leaders.Basic Requirements:Experience : 5-7+ years in strategic communications, public relations, and media relations.Required Skills : Strong writing ability, project management experience, a track record of building and maintaining relationships with the media, a track record of results. Ideally looking for someone with experience working with media companies (and ideally podcasts) and/or startups more broadly (booking podcasts and founder interviews). Experience with executiveBusiness Acumen : Strong interest, curiosity, and passion for business and operations, and a knowledge of the driving narratives within business and entrepreneurship media. Strong media relationships at both the local and national level. Adaptable, creative, can-do attitude. Attention to detail, organized.Storytelling Ability : Ability to identify and shape compelling storylines from across the company, tying them to relevant trends and news moments in the broader business landscape and supporting with anecdotes and data/research.Leadership : Ability to run autonomously and lead the development of a communications strategy and content marketing strategy from scratch.
