SUMMARY:

Responsible for engaging with and managing the APC Graphics department, in alignment with American Packaging's vision, mission and core values. Duties involve management of direct reports including, but not limited to, providing assistance and instruction on daily tasks, coordinating and managing new business opportunities as it relates to Graphics, and measuring and reporting key performance indicators to review team performance. To ensure success in this role, you will need to have exceptional communication skills as well as a passion to meet the customers' needs by striving for quality, delivering on-time and providing creative solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following:Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the STOP Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation's efforts to achieve a zero-accident rate.Managing the workflow of employees, creating team schedules and delegating tasks.Ensure employees are meeting performance expectations and identify areas of improvement if necessary.Assign customers to employees in a meaningful way to ensure success for all parties. Including balancing workloads among employees in time of fluidity.Ensure that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met.Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.Maintain transparent communication both internal (Manufacturing, Customer Service, Production Control, Technical) and external (customers).Represent American Packaging at new business meetings with customers and suppliers to review printing capabilities, procedures and systems.Stay well-informed of new pre-press, graphics or any other related technology.Possess the ability to generate accurate estimates for pricing scenarios.Conduct & analyze the success of internal trials.Understand & be capable of initiating press characterization trials with our key suppliers & then interpreting the results.Train and implement new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed within the department.Have self-motivation and take proactive steps towards solving identified problems. Must also be very willing to take on new projects as they develop.Attend and participate in all company mandated meetings.Business travel required.Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises any employees in the Graphics Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include setting and implementing standard operating procedures; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
